Activist band’s “I Kissed A Boy (And I Liked It) stirs controversy
The self-described “socially progressive, eco-enlightened” and supposedly heterosexual boy band The Train-throbbers were downtown at The Hole last night celebrating their pop sophomore release, the unconventionally-titled “Shitty Music.”
Considered their most edgy and disturbing album to date, “Shitty” includes the radio super hit “I Kissed A Boy (And I Liked It)”, which has shocked many groups including parents like Deborah Petowski, a local soccer mom who described the songs as “mentally and sexually unhinged,” with “overly-descriptive lyrics” that made her “physically ill.”
But the album left hardcore fans like Danny Petowski, 15, wondering where the line is- if any remains at all - between being “totally gay” and “totally cool”…(story on page 4)



Thousands of US moviegoers were disappointed this week as they attempted to see Tim Burton's cool post-apocalyptic animated adventure "9" but ended up accidentally seeing the gay Daniel Day-Lewis musical "Nine" instead.
'Idol' front-runner Adam Lambert says being idolized is totally all about individuality: "If you're not doin' your own thing like me, then you're probably out there doin' someone else's thing, and that's BULLSHIT," Lambert said.
